Trinity Sunday

Trinity Sunday is a celebration of something that seems impossible to us—that God is one God and three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Many saints and teachers have tried to explain it (our own St Patrick had a decent try with the shamrock!), but no one fully understands how God can be both one and three.  If Jesus hadn’t told us we would never have believed him!

If God’s love is so strong that it can be both one and three, what other impossible things could it do?  Could it bring peace to the world?  Could it reunite divided families?  Could it bring healing, strength and hope to those who are sick, afraid, or hurting now?  Of course it can!  Nothing is impossible for God.  This Sunday may the ‘impossible ‘mystery of the Holy Trinity inspire us to have more faith in the almighty power of the one God—the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
