Parish Bulletin

12th September 2021

Twenty Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time

Earlier this week Pope Francis published a joint letter to the world on the subject of
protecting the environment along with Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury and Patriarch Bartholomew of Istanbul (representing the Orthodox churches).  This is the first time leaders of our three traditions have written a joint message and you will hear it read at Mass on Saturday and Sunday.  It reminds us that Christians should work together to protect the poor, the vulnerable and the world around us.

OLD & NEW @No.5

Now that schools are back & some of us are settling again into our weekly routine we are ready for another great week at Old & New!  There’s lots of interest in our new bear and puppy figurines… and we only have one pair of our large sitting dogs figurines left!

Check out our interesting “Sly Dog” picture in our window display this week, our tall rooster and hen
figures, the range of brass fire furniture and selection of pictures and prints including a large Sam McLarnon print.

Our ever popular wash basin on stand is back and we have just received another supply of our large and small rustic rabbits which are always in demand.  We will hopefully see you this week, we are open 10-4.30pm Wednesday - Saturday as usual.

FROM POPE FRANCIS ON TWITTER

God is gloriously and mysteriously present in creation since he is the Lord who reigns over it.  To discover this, we need to be silent, listen, contemplate.
