Fourth Sunday of Advent

We have reached the last week of Advent now and the Sunday Gospel invites us to join Mary and her cousin Elizabeth during their pregnancies.  Both these women have been greatly blessed by God and together they give thanks for all that the Lord has done for them.

As we look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ in just a few days time, let's remember to give thanks to God for all the ways that he has blessed us.  May the Lord watch over all of us and give us a holy and happy Christmas.

Fr Damian

BETHANY BEREAVEMENT CHRISTMAS TREE

Christmas is often the time when we most miss our loved ones who have died.  It’s good to remember and pray for the Holy Souls during these days.  Our parish Bethany team have put up a Christmas tree at the back of the church.  Everyone is welcome to write down the name of a loved one who has died and to place it on a branch of the tree.  The names will be remembered in prayer throughout the Christmas season.

There will also be penitential prayers for the housebound on the webcam at 6.45pm on Monday 20th.

CHRISTMAS EVE—COME TO THE MANGER

Not everyone can come to Christmas Masses this year, but we would like to extend an open invitation to everyone to come and visit the church on Christmas Eve.  Between 1pm and 3pm the Church will be open for prayer and to view the crib.  Fr Damian will be present to hear confessions or have a chat.  Please encourage your family, friends or neighbours to call in to the Church at this time and enjoy a moment of God’s peace and blessing this Christmas Eve.
