Prison Week 2016
Prison Week begins on Sunday 9 October and runs through to Saturday 15 October 2016.
An Ecumenical Service for ‘Prison Week’ will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Donegall St, Belfast, BT1 2FL on Wednesday 12 October at 7.00pm. Prison Week is a week of prayer of all those involved in prison life. An invitation is extended to all those involved with prison life, those working with victims of crime and all those family members who have been affected by family members in prison.
The Prison Week Prayer
Lord, you offer freedom to all people. We pray for those in prison. Break the bonds of fear and isolation that exist. Support with your love prisoners and their families and friends, prison staff and all who care. Heal those who have been wounded by the actions of others, especially the victims of crime. Help us to forgive one another, to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly together with Christ in his strength and in his Spirit, now and every day. Amen.
